After extensive consultation with the industry, EWRB, ECANZ, and the Electrical Company (ETCO), Site Safe are proud to announce the implementation of the latest Electrical Passport course.

The Electrical Passport has been designed to meet both electrical licensing requirements and the induction training requirements of Site Safe Head of Agreement companies. By working together, a single course covering all things necessary for an Electrician to achieve his (or her) New Zealand Practicing License, along with health and safety induction training, has been achieved.

The Electrical Passport is four and a half hours long and also incorporates an additional hour and a half for a First Aid/CPR refresher, thereby allowing Trainees to achieve all sets of training in a combined course. This is one aspect of the Electrical Passport that the working party paid particular attention to, to ensure that Workers' time was spent in the most time-efficient manner.

Site Safe maintains the quality control of this training programme, which also carries Site Safe's trademark course title - the "Passport".

While all other construction Workers attending Site Safe Passport courses receive a photo identification card, Registered Electrical Workers who have attended an Electrical Passport course will have a Site Safe Electrical Passport endorsement printed on their practicing license when it is issued by the EWRB.

Electrical companies may have staff other than registered and licensed Electricians working for them - whether they be Labourers or Apprentices. The Electrical Passport is still the most appropriate course for these people and Site Safe will produce a suitable photo identification card that allows for recognition of the training that they have received.
