Consultants and supervisors drive on site behaviours through their own understanding of human nature, behavioural science, job planning and problem solving. The Consultants Passport explores ways in which consultants can use safety to deliver to clients quality projects on time and in budget.
The Consultants Passport was developed by an industry team to ensure it applies to the responsibilities of a wide range of project consultants working in New Zealand, some of whom may require access to Site Safe Safety Charter Accredited and Head of Agreement sites.

The goals of the course are to:
- Identify the safety responsibilities of consultants, principals and designers
- Recognise how to keep yourself safe
- Contribute to project safety to achieve improved project results
- Understand how safety in design impacts the down stream cost of a project's construction, use and maintenance.
The Consultants Passport course is pitched at a level that recognises the degree of knowledge and specific experience of the target group. The course is highly interactive, so come prepared for a stimulating discussion on how safety can assist a range of project consultants in delivering high quality service to clients.

- New Zealand Health and Safety legislation and how it applies to project consultants
- The hazard management process and how consultants can participate in it
- Personal safety and what consultants can do to keep themselves and others safe
- Consultant's contribution to improving safety to achieve quality projects, delivered on time and in budget
Improving safety knowledge
To ensure consultants are kept up-to-date with best practice developments in Health and Safety, passport holders are required to complete a refresher course every two years.
