Dave joined Site Safe in 2011 as a Safety Advisor and Trainer based in Christchurch.

His prior health and safety experience includes nine years in manufacturing and two in retail and warehousing. Prior to entering the health and safety sector, David was involved in intelligence analysis and learning and development roles for a government department. Intelligence analysis and health and safety are kindred spirits; both involve planning, collection of information, analysing, implementation and re-evaluation.

Dave was involved in the risk assessment process during the 2000 America’s Cup regatta in Auckland. He was also involved in developing the introduction of Risk Assessment tools into the NZ Customs Service.

He understands the benefits that sound health and safety systems and practices bring and can assist clients with developing skills that will share that benefit.

Dave was also involved in an award winning workplace literacy and numeracy initiative that significantly improved levels of literacy in the workers, both New Zealanders and migrants.
