Site Safe welcomes new Chair and Board members

We are pleased to announce that Will Peet has been appointed as the new Chair of the Site Safe Board of Directors. Will has been an independent director on the board since 2021. A civil engineer, he’s been involved in construction through the rail and defence industries and has worked overseas from America to Afghanistan to Antarctica to Aitutaki.

Will Peet has been an influential figure in the field, known for his dedication to promoting safety and his strategic vision. His leadership style, characterized by innovation and collaboration, is expected to guide Site Safe towards new heights of success and effectiveness in our mission.

In addition to Will’s appointment, we are excited to welcome three new members to our Board of Directors: Karyn Beattie, Phillip Thorpe, and Nigel Smith. Each of these individuals brings unique expertise and perspectives that will be invaluable in steering Site Safe’s future initiatives.

Karyn is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in health, safety, quality and environmental (HSEQ) management in New Zealand, her career is marked by a steadfast commitment to fostering safe and sustainable work environments across diverse industries, including manufacturing, construction, and infrastructure sectors.

Phillip Thorpe joins us with extensive experience in construction management and risk assessment. With over two decades of experience in Facilities Management, Facility Services, and Project Management, Phillip offers a wealth of expertise in hard services management and delivery.

Nigel Smith is a respected leader with 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Nigel is experienced at governance, management and operations. He also brings industry, strategic, and construction insight to the table. His reputation for hard work, drive and commitment is strong. He continues to work on both the Board of BRANZ and the Board of Registered Master Builders NZ.

The addition of these esteemed members to the board, along with Will’s leadership, is a testament to Site Safe’s ongoing commitment to excellence in safety. We look forward to the positive impact their combined experience and vision will bring to our organization.
