SiteWise at 10: A Decade of Health and Safety Excellence
19 Mar 2025
As SiteWise celebrates its 10th anniversary, we reflect on a decade of growth and achievement. Since our inception in 2015, our mission has been clear: to break down barriers and simplify the path to health and safety in construction, and related industries. Created to support the rebuild after the Canterbury Earthquakes, SiteWise has grown to serve over 10,000 customers, making New Zealand’s construction and related industries a safer place for all.
In the spirit of these incredible customers, we want to highlight a couple who have been with us through the years.
M.W. Lissette Ltd Earthmoving Contractors (SiteWise Gold)
Founded over 45 years ago, M.W. Lissette Ltd has seen the evolution of workplace safety firsthand. With the introduction of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, they sought a comprehensive health and safety management system. SiteWise became an invaluable partner, helping them navigate the complexities of modern safety regulations. Today, M.W. Lissette Ltd proudly holds SiteWise Gold status, a testament to their commitment to safety and the value of our system.
“To meet the growing expectations of our clients we sought a comprehensive, nationally recognised health and safety management system. This is where SiteWise became an invaluable partner. When we first joined SiteWise, six years ago, there were approximately 5,000 registered users. Today, that number has exceeded 10,000 and is growing by the day. This is a testament to the system’s widespread acceptance and value within the industry.”
Eddie Te Kahika, Health and Safety Manager, M.W. Lissette Ltd.
District Lakes Queenstown Council (SiteWise L1)
The District Lakes Queenstown Council employs over 600 people and engages numerous contractors to meet their deliverables. Six years ago, they transitioned from a cumbersome paper-based prequalification system to SiteWise. This change has streamlined their processes, allowing them to digitise health and safety information, centralise their contractor database, and improve follow-up procedures.
Alan Thomas from the council credits SiteWise with giving them “the advantage of allowing our internal team to focus on the ‘nitty gritty’ of the contracted works.”
As Site Safe and the SiteWise team celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to our mission of simplifying health and safety in the construction industry. Here's to the next decade of innovation, growth, and continued dedication to making New Zealand’s construction industry a safer place for everyone.
