Updates to Our Advanced Safety Harness Systems Course
22 Sep 2025
Starting 1 October 2025, we're updating the way we run our two-day heights (Safety Harness System and Advanced Safety Harness System) course to align with new guidance from the Workforce Development Council.
This change will improve how we assess learners and determine their eligibility to move from day one to day two of the training. The course content will now clearly separate the training and assessment for each day.
What You’ll Learn
Day One: Learners will be trained and assessed against Unit Standard 23229, "Use safety harness system when working at height". Learners will learn how to identify hazards, understand safety harnesses and equipment, and check and fit a harness system. Learners must meet the requirements of this unit standard to move on to day two.
Day Two: Learners will be trained and assessed against Unit Standard 15757, "Use, install and disestablish temporary proprietary height safety systems when working at height". This includes preparing, setting up, and dismantling a fall arrest system.
Who Should Attend?
This course is for anyone who works at heights with a safety harness under supervision or supervises others using safety harness systems. It’s also for those who may have already achieved Unit Standard 23229.
