About Symon Dynes
He aha te mea nui o te ao - What is the most important thing in the world?
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata - It is the people, it is the people, it is the people.
Growing up in the shadow of the transport industry and having a 20 year career in the Royal New Zealand Army Medical Corp (RNZAMC) Symon’s experience includes a number of Operational and Humanitarian assistance & disaster relief deployments, where RNZAMC personal often seemed to ‘inherit’ the H&S lead role. He later transitioned this expertise into the maritime sector, working on deep-sea platforms.
Coming ashore following the Christchurch Earthquakes, Symon has worked alongside and with a number fantastic H&S professionals on some fairly significant projects, shaping the practitioner he is today.
Symon has had an active role on the H&S leadership Group on the Canterbury Safety Charter in the years it was operating.
Outside of work Symon is involved with recovery programmes within the Veteran community and with the Invictus Games, having represented NZ at the 2025 Invictus Games.
