Meet the Team: Sophia

Meet Sophia, one of our customer services superstars. Sophia was voted the 2018 Customer Services Team Member of Year for her flair for answering tricky queries, passion for health and safety and awesome mac and cheese.
Originally from Rotorua, Sophia moved to Wellington after falling in love with its hills, amazing views and ever-changing multitude of new restaurants.
Having previously worked as a ward administrator and a health and safety representative at Wellington Hospital, Sophia jumped at the chance to work for Site Safe when a role in the customer services team came up.
“Site Safe definitely leads by example and the whole team learns so much about how to keep people safe. Working here has definitely inspired me to take the next step in my career and I’m now studying towards Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety so that one day I can be a health and safety advisor.”
Working with an awesome team is part of what keeps Sophia motivated to deliver top customer service every day, she says.
“We all work really well together and have a lot of fun. I love talking to people and being in a position where I get to help make a real difference to their lives by helping them to stay safe.”
Always up for a challenge, Sophia loves getting tricky queries and going the extra mile to find answers for customers.
“I really enjoy learning something new each day, so when I don’t have the answer right away, I’ll go away and find out more, so I’m always prepared for next time.”
When she’s not manning the phones and helping out customers, Sophia can be found whipping up a mean mac and cheese, hitting the ski slopes, or getting out and about for a long walk in the Wellington hills.
