Work starts on Wellington revamp
15 Jan 2020
A major revamp of Wellington’s Site Safe premises at 25 Jarden Mile in Ngauranga has started.
As well as weathertightness issues being fixed there will be a seismic upgrade, a new roof, new cladding and an interior fit out.
Half of the Wellington staff, including the Customer Services, People and Culture teams have moved next door to the first floor of number 27 Jarden Mile. Access to the team there is via stairs on the right of the building, which has an arrow pointing to it in the photo.
The main building is still home to CE Brett Murray and other managers, the development team, quality, finance, IT marketing and communications and the delivery team/training advisors. However no training is being delivered at Ngauranga, with all classes being held at WelTec in Petone except for the Heights courses which are being held at Vertical Horizonz in Peterkin St, Taita.
For anyone else visiting Site Safe at 23-25 Jarden Mile, access is through a door in the middle of the building, also arrowed. There is currently no reception area at 23 so if visiting someone it is best to contact them directly to arrange to meet up.
Hawkins is the main contractor with the project management being undertaken by Egmont Dixon. The handover is planned for August.
