Site Safe Construction Health, Safety and Wellbeing Awards
The Site Safe Construction Health, Safety and Wellbeing Awards acknowledge people, sites or companies/organisations who have demonstrated innovation and leadership in helping to improve health and safety in the construction industry.
These awards are presented annually at the Evening of Celebration (Auckland), along with graduates in the Health and Safety in Construction programme.
Our 2020 Evening of Celebration and regional graduations have been cancelled due to COVID-19.
Award Categories:
1) The Dominion Constructors Safety Innovation Award Small to Medium Business (Small to medium organisation up to 50 employees)
This Award is for a site or company demonstrating the best new idea or initiative to drive improvements in health and safety systems or behaviours, address or manage a specific hazard or risk, create a design solution to address a problem, or to improve productivity.
2) The Bettabuilt Safety Innovation Award Large Business (Large organisations over 50 employees)
This Award is for a site or company demonstrating the best new idea or initiative to drive improvements in health and safety systems or behaviours, address or manage a specific hazard or risk, create a design solution to address a problem, or to improve productivity.
3) The Mitre 10 Trade Safety Leadership Award (Small, medium or large business)
This Award is for a site or company where an initiative has been implemented that involves organisational leaders in driving health and safety performance through visible and active involvement in health and safety activities. This could include developing safety culture, making safety positive or demonstrating leadership at the highest level. This award is open to organisations of all sizes. Organisational leaders can be the CEO and senior managers in a large company through to the owner (or other person with significance influence) in an SME.
4) The Vero Liability Safety Contribution Award (Individual or small team)
This award is for an individual (or small team) who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to health and safety in construction. This award acknowledges those people who light the spark in other people's minds and inspire positive change and action in the area of health and safety.
5) The Kalmar Mental Health and Wellbeing Award (Company, organisation, team or individual)
This award seeks to recognise a company, organisation, team or individual that has developed, implemented and championed outstanding approaches in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of construction workers, colleagues and friends.
Winners receive
Winners from each category received an award trophy, $1000 gift card and a case study feature in Site Safe’s membership magazine ‘Safety Insite.’
