SSSP Industry Review

Site Safe NZ, in conjunction with representatives from the construction sector, is carrying out a review/redevelopment of its Site-Specific Safety Plan or SSSP.

The review is being facilitated by Site Safe NZ with input from the Health and Safety Practitioners Group and its sub-group the Capital Safety Initiative Group.

The aim of the review is to:

1: Understand how well the SSSP and associated documents are meeting the needs of users at all levels.

2: If necessary, to update the SSSP to meet stakeholder needs based on the following principles:

  • Ease of use
  • Inclusion of key guidance information
  • Effective risk management
  • Meets regulatory compliance
  • Is a "good practice" process.

3: Creating guides to allow more effective use of key SSSP forms and terminology

4: Reviewing the potential of digitising the SSSP products for online use.

Note that there will be changes to all documents and processes that include mention of the SSSP and these will be edited once the SSSP is finalised.
