William Lightfoot

William is a dedicated and passionate safety specialist with experience in senior management and stakeholder engagement. His dynamic teaching abilities with the ability to motivate and drive change help him to offer a wide variety of advanced NZQA specialised training courses. Qualified as an advanced ICU and neonatal Paramedic, Fire Fighter and been in several safety manager positions he has extensive knowledge in rescue planning, risk management, site management, and applications of legislation standards in the workplace.

Moving from South Africa to New Zealand in 2019, he has been engaging with a number of industries by providing NZQA high-risk training, site management, consultation, advisory, and auditing services. Started at Site Safe in February 2023 he manages the Bay of Plenty Region with dedication and commitment.

Specific expertise:

• Training, advising, and development of Senior management especially legal liability and compliance related to the Health and Safety Management System, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and Regulations.
• Contractor Management with assistance in H&S documentation, policy and procedure development, implementation, and maintenance. (SSSP, JSA, Permits, log out tag out)
• Health, Safety, and Well-being Training and Development specialising in Working at Heights, Confined spaces, Breathing Apparatus, MEWP, asbestos, chemical handling, and rescue planning.
• Worker engagement and training with outcome-based adult facilitation
• Site auditing, and site advisory services with comprehensive post-reporting on findings including recommendations for improvement to the client.
• Risk management and accident/incident investigation.
