Development of Occupational Health and Safety skill standards

Site Safe are pleased to be a part of several working groups supporting the evolution of new skill standards in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) space.

The work, led by Workforce Development Council Toitū Te Waiora, is focused on the development of new skill standards that, over time, will replace unit standards listed in the OHS subfields of:

• Hazardous Substances and Materials (21 standards)
• Occupational Health and Safety Practice (31 standards)
• Workplace Health and Safety Management (9 standards).

Skill standards will be developed to align with New Zealand qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety Practice.
