Safety Advisor

Safety Advisor - Wellington, Full Time

  • Join us in building a safer construction industry in the Central Region
  • Facilitate health and safety training
  • Provide health and safety expertise to the construction industry

We’re looking for an experienced health and safety professional, with passion and experience in training and helping businesses become safer.

As Safety Advisor, you’ll primarily be facilitating interactive and engaging training sessions to help improve behavioural awareness of health and safety.  Alongside this, you’ll help companies to embed health and safety behaviour and systems that make a difference.  Depending on your skills and experience, this may include providing on-site audits and consultancy services.

We’re looking for someone with the experience and passion for delivering training to adults, alongside significant Health and Safety knowledge.  Ideally this will be backed up with both an Adult Education and a Health and Safety qualification, or you’ll be working towards these.  If you’re not there yet, but have the motivation and positive attitude, we’ll help you get there.

Knowledge of the construction, or similar industries, would be an advantage, as is membership with NZISM.

In return we’ll offer ongoing training and professional development, and you’ll be well supported by the wider Site Safe team.  We also offer some great benefits like health and life insurance and a vehicle will be provided for work-related travel.

Site Safe is a not-for-profit, membership organisation providing education and health and safety services and resources to improve safety in the sector.  We help develop future health and safety leaders, give advice to businesses on solutions that make a real difference and help enable everyone to go home safely at the end of each day.

The full job description is here and you can apply for this position via seek.   For further details or a confidential chat please contact Sarah Prior on 04 815 8840 or 027 435 4957.

Applications close Sunday, 9 February 2020.
